Last Update: January 15, 1997
The competition results from all three day swing dance events are being maintained by the World Swing Dance Council for the purpose of making sure that competitors compete at their proper dance level.
Each placement has a certain point value:
| Placement | Value |
| 1st | 10 |
| 2nd | 6 |
| 3rd | 4 |
| 4th | 3 |
| 5th | 2 |
The following point system is tentatively suggested by the World Swing Dance Council for determining dance level:
| Level | Points |
| Newcomer | 0-14 |
| Novice | 15-19 |
| Intermediate | 20-29 |
| Advanced | 30+ |
Two lists are being compiled by the World Swing Dance Council: one for
Jack & Jill results and another for Street Swing results. Points are
accumulated over the past three years. Swing dance events will eventually
start using the competition results registry to determine the proper dance
category for contestants.
It is important that you email all of your Jack & Jill and Street Swing results to the World Swing Council to ensure accuracy of the registry. Make sure to include the event, location, date and results for each entry. The World Swing Dance Council has a mostly complete listing of results, but it does not include everything. Make sure your information is accurate.
Note: This system is still under development. There are issues that need to be resolved. Direct all questions about the new system to the World Swing Dance Council, not me. Please forward the answers to your questions to me at stefan@javanet.com so that I can update this page. Thank you.
